Dr. Sanjeev Soni

ACADEMCouncil of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), India was constituted in 1942 as an autonomous body under the provision of the Registration of Societies Act XXI of 1860. After independence, the need for bettering the living standards of the common man by promoting industry and for helping the industry to solve its problems through stimulus of scientific research was greatly stressed. The Council, through its constituent laboratories, has helped the country in increasing the economic growth and industrialization.

Dr. Dibyajyoti Das

ACADEMIA

Dr. Ekta Singla is presently working as Assistant Professor in the School of Mechanical, Materials and Energy Engineering at IIT Ropar. Prior to this, she was working as Senior Project Engineer at IIT Kanpur. She has experienced one year post-doctoral research at Institute de Systems Intelligence et de Robotics (ISIR), UPMC, Paris, France, in the area of Evolutionary Design. Her PhD from IIT Kanpur covered the study, analysis and development of customized manipulators for cluttered environments. During her PhD, she visited Technical University, Berlin, Germany, as a visiting research student for a project on rehabilitation.

Dr. Anupam Agrawal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Ropar. He received his Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Madan Mohan Malviya Engineering College Gorakhpur, UP, Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institue of Technology Kharagpur, WB and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, UP. He worked as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at International Center for Automotive Research (ICAR) at Clemson University, US, before joining IIT Ropar.

Dr. Ashish Singla is currently working as Assistant Professor at Thapar University. He earned his PhD from IIT Kanpur. His interest areas are : Introduction to robotics, advanced robotics and control Modern control theory, classical control Dynamics of multi-body systems, mechanical vibrations Applied optimization: unconstrained and constrained (classical methods) Applied mathematics: Linear algebra, ODEs, Numerical methods, Scientific computing CAD, ICG, Engineering graphics, Machine drawing Communication skills.

Dr. Srikant Sekhar Padhee is currently working as Assistant Professor
SMMEE at IIT Ropar. His areas of research are :

Multi-scale Modeling

Variational Asymptotic Method

Dr. Pushpendra P. Singh has earned PhD in Experimental Nuclear Physics from A. M. University, Aligarh in collaboraton with the Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi in 2009. His doctoral thesis has been recognized by the Indian Physics Association (IPA) and conferred “Prof. C. V. K. Baba Award 2008” on him during the DAE-BRNS Symposium. In July 2009, he moved to the Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro (LNL), Italy on an international INFN-Fellowship after a short postdoctoral stay at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai. During his stay at LNL from July 2009 to June 2011, Dr. Singh has worked on fusion at extreme sub-barrier energies and (multi)-nucleon transfer reactions using Electrostatic separator and PRISMA spectrometer. He was working as a visiting Scientist at GSI – Helmholtz Centre for Heavy-Ion Research GmbH in Germany before joining IIT Ropar.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics. In 2006, he received his Ph.D. degree from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, where he worked on superconductivity and magnetism. Thereafter he joined Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai as a Visiting Fellow, where he continued his research work on magnetic materials miglior sito. In 2007, he moved to University of Peirre and Marie Curie, Paris, France to work on graphene and other two dimensional layered materials like InSe, NbSe2, BSCCO superconductors and Bismuth. He worked on fabrication as well as electrical characterization of Field Effect Transistors (FETs). His current research interests are in fabrication of nanodevices from graphene and other low dimensional materials and the involved nanophysics, specially their strongly correlated electrons behaviors in the low dimensional systems.
